Our founder
Meet Ms. Rose, the visionary founder of Yolo Academy. Rose discovered her passion for education early on. Her academic journey took her to Australia, where she pursued her studies and launched her teaching career, deeply immersing herself in a new culture and educational approaches. Rose returned to Hong Kong with a rich background in teaching young learners aged 2.5 to 11 years old in phonics, grammar, and writing.
With over 500 students taught and credentials including an Australian teaching registration and IPA certification, Rose brings a unique blend of international expertise and local insight to Yolo Academy. Her teaching philosophy is built on the pillars of curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking, aiming to inspire lifelong learning in her students. Rose’s approach to education emphasizes the importance of a reciprocal learning process, where she continually learns from her students as they grow together.

This sequence continues throughout the primary school years, with each stage building upon the previous one. The goal is to take the core phonics skills and develop them into well-rounded English language mastery by the time they finish primary school.

Our YOLO Phonics curriculum is grounded in the research of the Science of Reading and features our own engaging YOLO characters.
Our unique program combines interactive stories visually with systematic phonics instruction to build strong literacy skills. With a focus on phonemic awareness, decoding, and fluency, YOLO Phonics makes learning fun and effective.
